Steve was first introduced to CrossFit in 2009 after searching the internet for videos of kipping pull-ups. He was immediately attracted to the variety of movement in the workouts and decided to begin coaching in 2010 after getting his first trainer certification. Since then, he has worked with hundreds of athletes to surpass their fitness goals of gaining strength, losing weight and increasing flexibility.With a background in the US Marine Corps, as well as more than a dozen years as a software engineer, Steve has enjoyed staying active over the years in a variety of fitness activities, including several marathons, cycling events and hiking both the Appalachian and Pacific Crest Trails.
Steve is committed to ensuring members perform movements in a
safe manner, while still benefiting from a great workout. When he is
not training at CFSWP, Steve enjoys spending time with his family.

Shannon Weiland


With over 8 years working as a trainer in the fitness industry and serving  as a Functional Fitness Coach for 8 years, Transformation coach certified, Worlds Greatest Boot Coach certified, nutrition and power-lifting cert awarded.

Membership Services

Lifelong fitness enthusiast, Shannon has participated in many local sporting events including more than 30 cycling events such as: Cycle Oregon, STP, Portland Century, as well as the 2006 Portland Marathon. A Portland local, Shannon grew up in the area, then attended PCC for nursing and spent 12 years in the IT industry as a technical recruiter/district account manager.

After being introduced to CrossFit 8 years ago by her husband, Shannon quickly fell in love with the fitness regime which has taken her body fat down to 10-12%! Shannon received her Power lifting certification, Nutrition certification, Transformation cert from Worlds Best BootCamp, 6 years helping people in our 6 week camps get amazing transformation and she plans on obtaining more specialty certifications in 2013 & 2014. When she’s not at the gym, Shannon enjoys spending time with her two sons.
